On 27th April, FredExcel will be joining the rest of the world to celebrate ‘International Girls in ICT Day’, drawing attention to the critical need for more girls and women in the ICT sector.

International Girls in ICT Day, established by ITU and celebrated in over 150 countries globally, celebrates girls and young women and encourages them to pursue studies and careers in the technology sector through training on coding, development of mobile applications, and IT.

Digital Skills for Life is the theme for Girls in ICT 2023, highlighting the need to promote career opportunities for girls and women in technology, the world’s fastest growing sector.

Girls in ICT Day reminds us that ICTs help to improve the lives of people everywhere – through better health care, improved environmental management, better communication systems, and better educational systems that transform the way children and adults learn.

We at FredExcel are proud of the number of females we have trained, and how these trainings have helped improve productivity at their workplaces, and made IT flexible to them. In our part of the word where many girls shun IT due to the perception that it is a male dominated area, it has become necessary to educate young women on how important IT is in their everyday lives.

In the spirit of this celebration, FredExcel has taken the initiate to:

• Share visuals on training needs of young girls who are aspiring to learn IT.
• Partner with well-meaning organizations to train young women in Microsoft Office tools
